Amazing Love
It Can Be
What does it take for two people to form a lifelong bond of love, one strong enough to endure through the good and the bad, including the loss of two children? It takes not only understanding and respect, but also the loving embrace of God and his wisdom.
Amazing Love, It Can Be is the heartwarming true story of Bob and Charmaine Magarian, and their love story that stretches across 77 years, from their meeting in high school in the aftermath of the Great Depression to their impending 74th wedding anniversary. During that time, Bob served in the Korean War, attained three college degrees, and became a respected pharmacist and college professor. Charmaine gave birth to and raised four children while actively supporting her husband and making possible his accomplishments. In their later years, Bob became a multi-published author, and they both deepened their commitment to their charity work, including an annual Christmas dinner that they host for their community. Charmaine and Bob created a true partnership in their marriage, joining together and working toward difficult goals and overcoming numerous challenges to attain their dreams and raise their family.
Bob and Charmaine are frequently asked: What is your secret? How did you survive all those years together, all those trials and tribulations, and still remain joyfully in love? Within these pages, their secrets are revealed.
Early in their marriage, they experienced a sense of God's presence, whom they believe directed their lives. Scripture taught them how to act toward one another, like Jesus loved and sacrificed himself for his church. In like manner, as husband and wife, they felt the same devotion and understood the need to sacrifice for one another.
Four key themes resonate throughout their story:
1. Effective living is not measured as much by what we accomplish, as by what we overcome to accomplish it;
2. Those who are obedient grow in understanding;
3. Love is more powerful than any time, wealth, or wisdom that is offered in this world; and
4. Anything of significance is accomplished in relationship with God.
